ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Andy McDonald scored twice and Teemu Selanne had a goal and an assist, leading the Anaheim Ducks to a 4-1 victory over the Dallas Stars on Sunday.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 30 saves after missing 11 games with a groin strain. The 2003 playoff MVP, who was leading the NHL with 23 wins when he was injured on Dec. 26 at San Jose, is 12-2-0 over his last 14 starts.

Playing for the first time since Jan. 19 because of the all-star break, the Ducks won for only the third time in 12 games and snapped a four-game losing streak with help from Dustin Penner's 17th goal.

The defending Pacific Division-champion Stars began a four-game road trip with their third straight loss to the Ducks, who currently hold the top spot in the division and are 10 points ahead of third-place Dallas. Jere Lehtinen scored their only goal on a penalty shot with 12:14 to play.

Chris Pronger returned to the Anaheim lineup after missing nine games with a broken left foot. So did fellow defenceman Francois Beauchemin, who was sidelined for 11 games with a lacerated spleen.

But team captain Scott Niedermayer, who leads all defencemen with 44 points and is second in the league in average ice time per game, sat out for the first time this season because of a stress fracture in his right foot. It was only the third game that the 2004 Norris Trophy winner has missed since the start of the 2002-03 campaign.

Anaheim has scored 13 goals in its last three games against Marty Turco, who has lost his last two starts after breaking Ed Belfour's franchise record for career wins on Jan. 20.

McDonald opened the scoring at 9:33 of the first with his 13th goal, beating Turco with a wrist shot from a sharp angle in the left circle. Penner made it 2-0 just 26 seconds later with his 17th goal, shoveling the puck past Turco's stick after teammate Todd Marchant fanned on a rebound of Ric Jackman's shot from the right point and nudged the puck to Penner.
