(Sports Network) - The Anaheim Ducks will try to rebound from consecutive shootout losses when they welcome the Detroit Red Wings to the Honda Center.

The Ducks began the season on a three-game winning streak before losing games in the shootout portion to the New York Islanders and Dallas Stars. Anaheim is still off to its best start with eight points after five games. The franchise's previous best beginning to a season was six points after five games during the 1994-95 campaign.

The Ducks last played on Sunday and Jussi Jokinen scored the game-winning goal in a shootout to lift the Stars to the 4-3 triumph at the Honda Center.

Todd Marchant and Scott Niedermayer wrapped up the scoring for the Ducks, who failed to convert on the power play for the first time this season, going 0- for-4.

Ilja Bryzgalov, who was replaced by Giguere in the second, made 12 saves while Giguere stopped 20 shots.

The Red Wings are coming off a win in Los Angeles on Monday. Robert Lang scored a pair of third-period goals to guide Detroit past the Kings, 3-1, at the Staples Center.
