SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Anaheim goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere left the Ducks' game against the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night after getting injured late in the second period.
Giguere, the NHL leader with 23 victories this season, was hurt while trying to move post-to-post as San Jose rookie Joe Pavelski skated behind his net. The goalie apparently got his skate caught near the post, and he crumpled to the ice as Steve Bernier scored the tying goal with 3:36 left in the period.
After remaining motionless on the ice for several moments, Giguere skated gingerly to the locker room. He entered the game with the NHL's third-best goals-against average at 2.12 while playing in each of the Ducks' last 14 games.
