ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) - The Anaheim Ducks may have to keep up their lightning-fast pace without one of their top blue-liners.

Ducks defenseman Francois Beauchemin suffered a lacerated spleen Tuesday and will be sidelined indefinitely.

Playing in his first full season in Anaheim, Beauchemin left in the second period of Tuesday's 4-3 victory over the San Jose Sharks.

Beauchemin, 26, has four goals and eight assists in 39 games this season with the Ducks, who own a league-best 28-5-6 record. The Quebec native has been Anaheim's No. 3 defenseman behind stars Chris Pronger and Scott Niedermayer.
