(Sports Network) - Two clubs battling for supremacy in the Pacific Division clash tonight, as the Anaheim Ducks and the San Jose Sharks meet in the opener of a home-and-home series at HP Pavilion.

It will mark the fourth meeting this season between the two clubs, who are separated by just three points. The Ducks currently reside at the top of the division with 72 points and are second overall in the West. San Jose and its 69 points are fifth overall in the conference.

The Ducks have taken two of the three meetings this season in the series, which shifts to the Honda Center on Wednesday. Anaheim has won four of the last six meetings overall and five of the last eight.

The Ducks have also won three of their last five in San Jose.

Anaheim, though, had a two-game winning streak ended on Saturday after a shutout loss to Nashville. Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 17 saves in the losing effort.

Tonight's game will mark the second straight on the road for the Ducks where they are 14-9-3.

Anaheim continues its quest to get healthy again. Giguere made his third start on Saturday since returning from a groin strain and suffered his first loss in that stretch.

One key player the Ducks are still missing, though, is defenseman Scott Niedermayer, who is close to returning from a stress fracture in his right foot.
