(Sports Network) - The Phoenix Coyotes bring their sudden surge of momentum into Dallas tonight when they face the Stars at AmericanAirlines Center.
The Coyotes have won three straight and four of their last five. On Monday, Patrick Fischer scored the game-winning goal midway through the third period to lift Phoenix over the Nashville Predators, 3-2, at Jobing.com Arena.
Oleg Saprykin and Yanic Perreault scored the other goals for the Coyotes, while Georges Laraque posted a pair of assists. Mikael Tellqvist halted 19- of-21 shots for his first win with Phoenix.
Perreault, who was only signed in late October, continued to pay dividends. The veteran forward has eight goals and three assists in a mere 13 games.
The Coyotes, who are a horrid 2-9-0 on the road, will visit Chicago on Thursday.
Dallas, meanwhile, has won consecutive contests after losing three straight. On Monday, Marty Turco made 25 saves to record his second shutout of the season as the Stars blanked the visiting San Jose Sharks, 1-0.
Despite posting their second straight win, the Stars also suffered a loss during the contest. Mike Modano, the team's leading scorer this season with 20 points (10G, 10A), netted the only goal in the first period. He then left in the second period with a groin/hip injury and did not return.
