Montreal Canadiens’ Guillaume Latendresse's 'cheap shot' may have ended Rob DiMaio's hockey career.

The Lightning right wing has not played since sustaining a serious concussion in a Sept. 26 preseason game in Montreal.

"I still have pretty substantial headaches," DiMaio told the St. Petersburg Times . "It's like a vise grip is attached to my head. I'm lethargic, without a lot of energy to do much."

DiMaio believes the elbow that caused the concussion was a cheap shot from Latendresse, saying the Habs rookie was just out to make a name for himself.

"The kid wants to make an impression, that’s fine," DiMaio said. "But do it face to face."

Dimaio has an examination scheduled for Wednesday, and although he would like to resume his career, he said he will abide by the doctor's decision on whether to hang up his skates.
