(Sports Network) - A pair of division leaders meet this evening in Atlanta, as the Thrashers welcome the New Jersey Devils to Philips Arena.

The Devils lead the Atlantic Division with 65 points and Atlanta is first in the Southeast with 64 points. A regulation victory for the Thrashers tonight would bump them ahead of New Jersey into second place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Both of these clubs are coming off losses in their last outings. The Devils lost in Florida on Saturday, while Atlanta was defeated by the visiting Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday.

The Devils were handed a 4-2 setback by the Panthers, as Jozef Stumpel burned New Jersey with a goal and two assists at the BankAtlantic Center.

Brian Gionta and John Oduya each scored a goal for the Devils, who had won five of six coming into the contest. Martin Brodeur made 28 saves in the loss.

Brodeur was coming off a win Friday evening in Tampa that extended his NHL record for consecutive 30-win seasons to 11. The legendary backstop is 30-14-4 this season.

Tonight marks the third test of a four-game road trip for the Devils, who are 13-11-1 as the guest this year. They will cap the swing Thursday in Philadelphia.
