With six defensemen under contract and restricted free agent Paul Martin in need of a new deal, the Devils appear to be finished searching for new rearguards, reports the Bergen Record.

The latest addition of free agent Vitaly Vishnevski means the team is likely out of the bidding for unrestricted free agent defensemen Sheldon Souray and Andy Sutton.

"We feel very good about [the defense], but we'll see how things transpire," Devils GM Lou Lamoriello told the Record. "There's a lot of time during the summer."

There's a chance the Devils could still sign one of the two blueliners, however that would require some additional salary juggling.

According to the Newark Star-Ledger, though, the San Jose Sharks are front runners for Souray.
