(Sports Network) - The New Jersey Devils hope to end a five-game road trip on a positive note tonight, as they battle the Los Angeles Kings at the Staples Center.

The Devils began their swing on November 18 with a win over the Toronto Maple Leafs, but have since dropped three straight games.

New Jersey's most recent setback came Saturday in San Jose as the Sharks earned a 2-0 triumph behind a shutout and 24-save performance from Evgeni Nabokov.

Martin Brodeur was solid between the pipes, stopping 25-of-26 chances for the Devils.

As usual, Brodeur has not been the problem for New Jersey, but a lack of scoring has hurt the team. The Devils have been held to three goals or less in six straight and 18 of their last 19 games.

New Jersey has 25 points and is just three behind the New York Rangers for first place in the Atlantic Division.

Meanwhile, the Kings will be trying to post wins in back-to-back games for just the second time this season. LA, which is coming off Saturday's victory over visiting Calgary, hasn't won two straight since beating the St. Louis Blues and the Islanders on October 7 and 10.
