TORONTO (CP) - Nathan Perrott is back.

The scrappy forward, released by the NHL's Dallas Stars during training camp, has signed a tryout contract with the AHL's Toronto Marlies.

Perrott, 29, a right-winger from Owen Sound, Ont., was with the parent NHL Leafs when he was traded to the Stars for a fift-round draft choice last November. He had two goals, one assist and 54 penalty minutes with Dallas.

I rememer him. He was a good player for the Leafs IMO, but they kept favouring Wade Belak over him, despite him actually being able to skate out there with the rest of the team.

A defenceman? He was a Right-Winger, but I guess he wants to give being a d-man a go. Who knows. With the injuries to Toronto's blueline....
