Toronto - The Canadian Hockey League announced today that David Desharnais of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday Dec. 17 after scoring five goals and four assists for nine points in three games.
Desharnais had two assists and was the first star in Chicoutimi's 4-2 win over the PEI Rocket on December 14. He scored four goals, including the game-winner, and picked up an assist in a 7-4 win over the Quebec Remparts on December 15 and finished the week with a goal and an assist and then scored the shootout winning goal in a 4-3 win over the Baie-Comeau Drakkar on December 17.
Jamie McGinn of the Ottawa 67's was the WHL nominee after scoring four goals and nine points in three games while Brad Cole of the Saskatoon Blades was the WHL nominee after scoring three goals and eight points in three games.
