New York, NY (Sports Network) - Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby, Nashville Predators goaltender Chris Mason and Calgary Flames forward Jarome Iginla were named the NHL's 'Three Stars' for the week ending December 17.

Crosby was named the first star after leading all NHL scorers with 13 points (three goals, 10 assists) in four games. He tallied points in each contest, and notched a career-high six points (one goal, five assists) in an 8-4 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers. The 19-year old Crosby leads the NHL in scoring with 52 points (16 goals, 36 assists) and is only the second teenager to hold the league lead in points at any time in the modern era, joining the legendary Wayne Gretzky.

The second star went to Mason who led the Predators to four victories and posted a 1.21 goals-against average. The netminder posted his first shutout of the season in a 6-0 win over Ottawa and then stopped 33 shots and three shootout attempts in a 3-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues to highlight his week. Mason is now a gaudy 8-3-1 in 12 starts for the Predators since Tomas Vokoun suffered a thumb injury.
