(CP) - The Columbus Blue Jackets drop to dead last after six straight losses. Our totally subjective and weekly ranking of the league's 30 clubs:

1. Buffalo. The Sabres have scored more goals than Philadelphia and Columbus combined.

2. Nashville. "Timmins Tornado" Steve Sullivan with seven points in last four games.

3. San Jose. Riding the top power play in the NHL.

4. Anaheim. Chris Pronger and Scott Niedermayer playing 27 minutes apiece.

5. Detroit. Mike Babcock the early choice for coach of the year.

6. Carolina. Here come the defending champs.

7. Dallas. Regulation time kings: only two of their 20 games have needed extra time (they won both).

8. Toronto. A second win in Buffalo on Wednesday would have them honking horns on Yonge St.

9. Montreal. Cristobal Huet finally takes over No. 1 job.

10. New Jersey. The Devils have given up one more goal than they've scored but they're six games over .500.

11. Calgary. Statement win over Detroit last Friday.

12. Edmonton. Statement win over Detroit last Saturday.

13. Minnesota. Must prove it can win on the road.

14. Atlanta. On a season-high four-game losing streak.

15. N.Y. Rangers. November has been kinder.

16. N.Y. Islanders. Solid 3-1-1 road trip for surprising Isles.

17. Pittsburgh. Evgeni Malkin tied with L.A.'s Anze Kopitar for rookie scoring lead in seven fewer games.

18. Ottawa. Two wins over Buffalo goes a long way to restoring confidence in nation's capital.

19. Vancouver. Not a terribly exciting team to watch.

20. Tampa Bay. Talk about a wake-up call in Buffalo on Monday night. Ouch.

21. Washington. Captain Chris Clark a team-best plus-8.

22. Boston. Tim Thomas playing well in goal.

23. Colorado. Andrew Brunette quietly having a solid campaign.

24. Florida. Nathan Horton has played real well of late on top line.

25. Chicago. Hoping to get star Martin Havlat back for end of the month.

26. Los Angeles. Alexander Frolov on fire right now.

27. Phoenix. Tough guy Georges Laraque doing it all.

28. Philadelphia. Big wins in Anaheim and Los Angeles last week.

29. St. Louis. November to forget so far: 2-7-0.

30. Columbus. Hire a new coach now!
