(Sports Network) - The San Jose Sharks will try to avoid their first three- game losing streak of the season this evening, when they visit the Phoenix Coyotes at Jobing.com Arena for the back end of a home-and-home series.

The Sharks were dealt their second consecutive loss Thursday night, as the visiting Coyotes pulled out a dramatic victory. Yanic Perreault scored with only 40.9 seconds left in the contest to lift Phoenix to the thrilling 3-2 win at HP Pavilion.

With the game tied and time running out, the Coyotes brought the puck into the San Jose zone with less than a minute to play. Phoenix fired a barrage of shots on net and Keith Ballard grabbed a loose puck in front and sent a backhander wide of the net. Perreault then scooped up the disc behind the cage and moved in front, tucking the puck just inside the right post and over the goal line.

Curtis Joseph made 27 saves and Shane Doan and Oleg Saprykin each had a goal and an assist for the Coyotes, who have won two of their last three games overall.
