(Sports Network) - The Minnesota Wild aim for their third consecutive victory tonight, when they visit the Phoenix Coyotes at Jobing.com Arena.
The Wild have won the last two games of their five-game road trip, picking up wins in St. Louis and Colorado. Minnesota is 2-1 so far on the trek, but just 10-16-1 as the guest this year.
The latest victory came Thursday against the Avalanche, as Marian Gaborik scored two goals, including the game-winner, in the 5-3 triumph at the Pepsi Center.
Gaborik, who also had an assist, took a feed from Kim Johnsson just above the right circle, and used a wrister from 46 feet out to beat Peter Budaj with 4:34 to play.
Mikko Koivu tallied twice, including an empty netter in the final minute, and Pierre-Marc Bouchard rounded out the scoring for the Wild, who have won three of their last four contests. Pavol Demitra finished with two assists.
Netminder Niklas Backstrom turned aside 27 shots in the win. Backstrom was in for the injured Manny Fernandez, who is also doubtful for tonight's game with a sprained left knee.
The Wild have 60 points and are two behind Calgary and Vancouver for the Northwest Division lead.
