(Sports Network) - Both the Chicago Blackhawks and Phoenix Coyotes aim for their longest win streaks of the season when the clubs face off tonight at Jobing.com Arena.
The Blackhawks have posted victories in each of their last two contests. After earning a 3-1 decision over St. Louis last Friday, Chicago received an outstanding performance out of goaltender Brian Boucher in Sunday's 1-0 win over Columbus at the United Center.
Lasse Kukkonen netted the game's only goal during the second period for the Blackhawks, who have won back-to-back games for only the second time this season. Chicago also recorded consecutive triumphs on October 16 and 18.
Boucher registered his 13th career shutout and first victory of the season. He came into the contest having lost seven straight decisions.
The veteran netminder had been subbing for the injured Nikolai Khabibulin, who hasn't played since breaking his finger on October 21. The veteran Russian has sat out Chicago's last eight games but is expected to be available for tonight's contest.
