SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (CP) - Fred (Bun) Cook, Dick Gamble, Gil Mayer and Mike Nykoluk were named to the American Hockey League Hall of Fame on Wednesday.

The inductions will take place during a Jan. 29 luncheon in Toronto as part of the league's annual all-star gathering. "All four inductees established standards of excellence during their AHL careers that have helped define our league's great history, and we are honoured to have them join our Hall of Fame," said league president David Andrews.

The AHL Hall of Fame is housed on-line at The league is in its 71st season of play.

Cook was born in Kingston, Ont., and died at age 84 in 1988. Following an NHL playing career that earned him a place in the Hockey Hall of Fame, Cook became a successful coach in the AHL.
