The rest is over. After 10 days off the Chiefs will play 18 games between now and January 31st, including four games in the next five nights versus two teams, Prince George and Tri-City. The stretch will begin tonight when they take on the Cougars in the first of two games on back-to-back nights and finish this weekend against the Americans with a home-and-home series. The Chiefs and Tri-City are tied for third place in the Division and sit one point behind the Seattle Thunderbirds for second.

Tonight's opponent, Prince George, sits in third place in the WHL's BC Division with a 14-17-1-3 record and 32 points, 16 behind Kamloops in second. The games will be the only two in Prince George for Spokane this season. The Cougars will visit Spokane for two games in three nights in late February.

Before their 17th straight meeting on New Year's Eve, the Chiefs will play host to Tri-City for the third time this season. The last time the Americans visited the Arena, the Chiefs earned a 3-2 win on November 11th but it is Tri-City who holds a 4-1 edge in the season series. Including this weekend's games, Spokane has seven remaining versus the Americans, four at home and three on the road. Eighteen of Spokane's 38 remaining games are versus the US Division.

INJURY UPDATE...Jared Spurgeon will return to the Chiefs lineup on Wednesday night in Prince George. The 17-year-old has been out of the lineup since suffering a leg injury the week of November 20th. Spurgeon, who missed the first 15 games of the season with a back injury, has played nine games with season, registering a point in five of them. Adam Hobson (knee, week-to-week) and Corey Courchene (arm, week-to-week) will not play.

Tickets for all home games are available by calling the Chiefs office at (509) 535-PUCK or TicketsWest at (800) 325-SEAT.
