Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago Blackhawks announced that center Michal Handzus will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL, while standout goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin is shelved indefinitely with a broken finger.

Both injuries were sustained during Saturday's 4-3 loss to St. Louis.

Handzus was acquired from Philadelphia this offseason for Kyle Calder and recorded two goals and five assists in eight games. A former fourth round choice in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, Handzus has skated for St. Louis, Phoenix, Philadelphia and Chicago, collecting 115 goals and 185 assists in 517 games.
