Just seems wrong that one of the two gold medal favorites is going home after tonight without even a chance at a medal.

I don't know what changes there should/could be. Or should there be any?

It's fine the way it is. If Canada and Russia wouldn't have lost in the early round they wouldn't be in the position they are now. It's a tournament and the name of the game is to get the highest seed possible to avoid a situation like the one today. There's still an easy fix for either team however, just win the rest of your games and you win gold, if not go home.

I wish these two would be able to play each other in a gold medal game. But it's there own faults. If you don't want to play each other in the quarter finals as 3 and 6 seeds, then don't lose to inferior teams like Slovakia, and the USA. I know Halak, and Miller both played out of there minds, but great teams find ways to win game.

So IMO don't change the format

I'm not a fan of the 3 game round robin then the playoff round. I wish they would use the World Jr. format. 5 Teams each in 2 pools, 4 game round robin and the playoff/regulation round.

I don't think there's a valid case for changing the format. If a team can't come out and get a victory on any given night, then they don't deserve to be in a GOLD medal game. To be playing at that level, you gotta be able to win, no matter what.
