Miami junior forward Ryan Jones of Chatham, Ont. scored five goals in two wins against Ferris State to become CCHA offensive player of the week.

The Minnesota Wild draft pick recorded a hat trick, including two third-period goals, in a 5-2 win over the Bulldogs on Dec. 2 and followed that performance up with two goals in a 7-2 victory for the sweep the next night.

Michigan sophomore forward Andrew Cogliano of Woodbridge, Ont., also finished with five goals over the weekend. Like Jones, Cogliano scored a hat trick on Dec. 1, but in a losing effort to Western Michigan, 6-3.

The Edmonton Oilers draft pick recorded two goals the following night in a 6-5 Wolverines victory. Cogliano, who won a gold medal with Canada at last year's world junior championship, was named to the roster for the National Junior Selection Camp this week.

Pat Inglis of Calgary, a freshman goaltender for Lake Superior, improved to 4-1-0 with a 37-save performance in a 5-2 victory over Northern Michigan on Dec. 2.

Lakers senior forward Trent Campbell of Beauval, Sask., scored the first two goals in the win. In the battle of Pittsburgh Penguins draft picks, Notre Dame senior goaltender David Brown of Stoney Creek, Ont., bested Alaska sophomore goaltender Chad Johnson of Calgary with a 21-save performance in a 3-1 Irish victory on Dec. 2.

Notre Dame defeated Alaska, 6-2, the following night to sweep the series. Brown stopped a combined 38-of-41 shots to pick up two victories while Alaska junior forward Kyle Greentree of Victoria recorded two goals and an assist for the Nanooks.

Western Michigan freshman forward Mark Letestu of Elk Point, Alta., compiled three goals and an assist in the series against Michigan.
