(Sports Network) - The Florida Panthers suffered a 6-3 home loss to Atlanta on Monday, as the Cats were swept in a home-and-home. The Thrashers also won Saturday's meeting, 4-2, at Philips Arena.

On Monday, Ilya Kovalchuk netted a hat trick as the Thrashers rallied from a two-goal deficit en route to the win. All three of Kovalchuk's markers came via the power play.

Joel Kwiatkowski and Bryan Allen both lit the lamp for the Panthers, who have lost four of their last five games overall. Goaltender Alexander Auld allowed five goals on 19 shots before being pulled in favor of Ed Belfour, who made seven saves in eight tries.

Overall, Florida allowed five power-play goals on seven chances. Atlanta had been a very weak 4-for-31 with the man-advantage entering the match.

For the season, the Cats have surrendered 12 goals in 69 shorthanded situations.

On the injury front, the Panthers were without winger Todd Bertuzzi on Monday due to back spasms. Bertuzzi, who was obtained from Vancouver in the blockbuster Roberto Luongo deal, is listed as day-to-day and checks in with one goal and six assists this season.
