OTTAWA (CP) - Jason Cassidy scored three goals and Michael Healey had two Saturday to lead the Toronto-St. Michael's to an 8-4 victory over the Ottawa 67's in the Ontario Hockey League - the Majors' first victory in 14 games.

Kaspars Daugavins added a goal and three assists for the Majors (15-32-2-1), who broke their 13-game losing slide less than a day after almost spoiling 67's coach Brian Kilrea's milestone 2,000th game on Friday night.

They lost 4-3 in overtime Friday, but on Saturday, they broke out in a big way by going 4-for-5 on the power play and limiting Ottawa to a 1-for-11 day with the man advantage.

Jesse Messier chipped in with a goal and two assists, Matt McCready had a goal and an assist and Matt Caria set up four goals for the Majors, who hadn't won since Dec. 28.

It was just their third victory in 27 games.

Chris Carrozzi stopped 40 shots to pick up the win.

"Obviously, the win is fantastic," Majors coach and director of hockey operations Bud Stefanski said. "The last four or five games, we've been playing pretty well and we're looking to see improvement every night.

"When you're a young guy, the losing streak doesn't seem to play on your mind as much as it does the old coach, but I was pleased with our two-game series this weekend."
