(Sports Network) - The Washington Capitals will host the Tampa Bay Lightning this evening at the Verizon Center.

The Caps are coming off a 4-3 shootout loss against the Atlanta Thrashers on Thursday at Philips Arena. Dainius Zubrus, Alexander Semin and Alexander Ovechkin all found the back of the net for the Capitals, who have lost three of their past four games.

Goaltender Brent Johnson made 40 saves and was brilliant until imploding in the final seconds of the game and the shootout.

After hosting Tampa Bay, the Capitals will open a four-game road trip in Colorado, Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary.

Meanwhile, the Lightning have won three of their last four games, including Thursday's 4-1 beating of the Philadelphia Flyers.

Former Flyers Vinny Prospal and Ruslan Fedotenko each scored a goal against their old team and Marc Denis made 34 saves for the win. Tampa Bay has won nine in a row versus the Flyers.
