(Sports Network) - The Washington Capitals have garnered points in their last two games, but they nonetheless try to end a two-game losing skid tonight when they welcome the Florida Panthers to the Verizon Center.

The Caps lost to Minnesota in a shootout and Atlanta via overtime. On Saturday they dropped a 4-3 overtime tilt to the visiting Thrashers, as Ilya Kovalchuk's first goal of the season lifted the victors.

Jamie Heward and Dainius Zubrus each had a goal and an assist for the Capitals, who have lost three of four overall this season. Olaf Kolzig made 27 stops in defeat.

Zubrus' goal with 5:40 left in the third period tied the match and forced overtime.

The Capitals will visit Atlanta on Thursday.

Florida, meanwhile, had a two-game winning streak ended in Saturday's 4-1 loss to Tampa Bay in the back end of a home-and-home. Ruslan Fedotenko posted a goal and an assist to lift the host Lightning.
