(Sports Network) - The Washington Capitals will try avoid a third consecutive loss this evening, when they visit the New Jersey Devils at the Meadowlands.
The Caps were last in action on Wednesday and dropped a decision to the visiting Montreal Canadiens. Cristobal Huet stopped 30 shots to help the Habs earn the 4-1 triumph at the Verizon Center.
Alexander Semin scored the lone goal and Olaf Kolzig made 23 saves for the Capitals, who have dropped four of their last five games.
Washington is playing the first of two straight on the road tonight. The Capitals, who are 8-5-4 as the guest this year, also visit the New York Rangers on Saturday.
The Devils won their latest game in familiar fashion, as goaltender Martin Brodeur turned in the 85th shutout of his career. Brodeur made 26 saves on Tuesday to lead New Jersey to the 3-0 victory over the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins.
