(Sports Network) - The Washington Capitals try to end a two-game losing streak tonight when they visit the Colorado Avalanche at the Pepsi Center.
Washington will open a four-game road trip in Colorado, followed by games in Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary. On Saturday the Caps suffered a 6-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning at the Verizon Center.
Capitals superstar Alexander Ovechkin scored a pair of goals, while Mike Green and Brian Sutherby also scored. Alexander Semin added a pair of assists and goaltender Olaf Kolzig made 29 saves in the loss.
The Capitals, who have lost four of their last five games, own a 0-1-2 record on the road this season.
Meanwhile, the Avalanche have won three of their last four games, including Monday's 6-1 triumph over the Los Angeles Kings at the Pepsi Center.
Colorado opened its three-game homestand on a good note, as Milan Hejduk scored a pair of goals and assisted on another during a five-goal second period.
Paul Stastny added a goal and two assists and Marek Svatos had a goal and an assist for Colorado.
