(Sports Network) - The Chicago Blackhawks will attempt to end a string of failure against the Vancouver Canucks when the two teams face off tonight at General Motors Place.

The Canucks have won 11 of their last 12 matchups with the Blackhawks, including each of the last six meetings. Chicago has also lost eight in a row at General Motors Place and hasn't tasted victory in Vancouver since a 5-4 decision on October 4, 2001.

Vancouver has also taken both games between the clubs this season, outscoring the Blackhawks by a 7-1 margin.

Chicago does come in on a high, though, thanks to a tremendous individual performance by Martin Havlat on Tuesday. The All-Star forward scored two goals in the final 2:43 of the third period, then later netted the game-deciding tally during the shootout to lift the Blackhawks to a 3-2 triumph over the Calgary Flames.

On the night the Flames retired former goaltender Mike Vernon's jersey, Chicago netminder Nikolai Khabibulin contributed to the win with a strong effort between the pipes. The veteran stopped 24 shots in regulation and stoned both Calgary skaters in the shootout.

The Blackhawks, who are 3-1-0 over their last four outings, will be playing the fourth test of a season-long seven-game road trip tonight. Chicago is just 9-13-4 as the visitor this season, but has won two of the first three games of the swing.
