The Vancouver Canucks will be without the services of their most reliable defenceman.
Sami Salo left Thursday's game against the Minnesota Wild midway through the second period with an undisclosed injury. He had tests done on Friday which showed that he suffered a slight knee sprain.
Salo received treatment today and the Canucks confirmed to TSN that the Finnish defenceman will be out of the lineup for at least one week.
His absence adds to an already depleting blueline that is without Willie Mitchell. Mitchell (day-to-day) has missed three straight games with a concussion and is uncertain for Saturday's game against the Colorado Avalanche.
