(Sports Network) - A pair of Northwest Division rivals meet this evening in Calgary, as the Flames welcome the Vancouver Canucks to the Saddledome.

Just six points separate the first-place Oilers and the last-place Colorado Avalanche in the tough division. Calgary and Vancouver are currently tied for third in the Northwest with 29 points.

The Flames were in action on Thursday night and had a three-game win streak halted in Minnesota. The Wild picked up a 3-2 shootout win, as Brian Rolston and Mikko Koivu scored in the final portion after contributing power-play goals in regulation.

Rhett Warrener and Jarome Iginla tallied for the Flames, who had a three-game winning streak snapped. Iginla's goal was the 300th of his career and 600th point. Miikka Kiprusoff made 25 saves in a losing effort.

Calgary plays the first of two straight at home tonight before embarking on a six-game road trip. The Flames wrap up the stand Tuesday against the Wild and begin the trek Thursday in Vancouver.

The Canucks picked up a home victory on Friday night, as they beat the Carolina Hurricanes in overtime. Henrik Sedin found brother Daniel for the game-winning goal 3:02 into the extra session as Vancouver blew a three-goal lead in the third period before rallying to beat Carolina, 4-3, at General Motors Place.
