(Sports Network) - The Vancouver Canucks will try to extend their recent string of success against the Edmonton Oilers tonight, when the two clubs tangle at Rexall Place.

Vancouver has claimed victory over Edmonton in three straight meetings and have downed the Oilers six times in the last nine matchups. Tonight marks the seventh of eight meetings this year, as the clubs will wrap up their season series March 19th at Rexall Place.

The Canucks' last two wins over the Oilers came in Vancouver, including a 5-3 victory in their most recent meeting last Thursday. Vancouver has won two of its last three in Edmonton as well.

Both teams were last in action on Saturday, with the Canucks falling to Calgary while the Oilers topped Colorado.

Taylor Pratt, Henrik Sedin and Daniel Sedin each had a goal and an assist for the Canucks, who were defeated by the Flames 4-3 and have now lost four of their last six games. With the loss, Vancouver fell two points behind the Flames for the lead in the Northwest Division and currently sit seventh overall in the West.

Markus Naslund added an assist, giving him five helpers in his last four contests.

Vancouver is playing the second of two straight road games and is 12-12-2 away from General Motors Place. Following tonight's game, the Canucks return home for a set of games, beginning with a visit from Chicago on Wednesday.

For Edmonton, Ryan Smyth and Shawn Horcoff scored third-period goals, as the Oilers defeated the Avalanche, 3-2, over the weekend.
