(Sports Network) - The Ottawa Senators will try to avoid their second three- game losing streak of the season when they battle the Carolina Hurricanes this evening at Scotiabank Place.

The Senators went 0-2 during a two-game road trip, losing games to Boston and Montreal. They were handed a 4-2 setback Tuesday evening by the Canadiens as David Aebischer stopped 31 shots for his fourth win of the season.

Ray Emery played well in the loss, making 25 saves. Jason Spezza and Tom Preissing scored for the Senators, who had won three in a row before the current skid.

Ottawa dropped three games in a row earlier this year from October 5-12. The Sens only lost three consecutive tests once last year and that came in a four- game skid from April 5-10.

The defending Stanley Cup champion Hurricanes are also coming off a loss after getting blanked by visiting Montreal on Thursday. Cristobal Huet made 31 saves for his 12th career shutout and the Habs scored three special teams goals en route to the 4-0 victory.
