The Carolina Hurricanes announced that the team has agreed to terms with right wing Craig Adams on a three-year contract.
The deal will pay Adams $600,000 per year.
"Craig is a character, high-energy player who is a great fit for our team," said GM Jim Rutherford.
"He had his best season this past year and will continue to play an important role with the Hurricanes in the future."
Adams, 29, established career highs in goals (10) and points (21) during the 2005-06 regular season with Carolina.
In 305 career regular season NHL games, all with Carolina, Adams has totaled 58 points and 249 penalty minutes. He has played 29 career playoff games for the Hurricanes.
