(Sports Network) - The Carolina Hurricanes try to push their winning streak to three games tonight when they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning at the St. Pete Times Forum.

After losing their first three contests, the defending champs have defeated Atlanta and Pittsburgh. On Saturday, Scott Walker scored two goals to lead the Hurricanes past the Penguins, 5-1, at Mellon Arena.

Cam Ward turned aside 25 shots and Mike Commodore added a goal and an assist for the Canes. Ward has settled down, yielding four goals in the last two games after getting rocked for a total of 11 in the first three.

On the injury front, Carolina forward Trevor Letowski was carted off the ice on a stretcher in the first period after colliding with Pittsburgh forward Colby Armstrong. Letowski will not play tonight and is slated to be re- evaluated when the team returns home.

The Hurricanes will visit Buffalo on Friday.
