(Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Flyers will try once again for their first win in December, as they host the defending Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes tonight at Wachovia Center.

The Flyers have dropped all six of their games this month and five of those games were decided in regulation. It is the second six-game losing streak of the season for the Flyers, and another loss this evening would set a new franchise record.

Philadelphia has just 20 points this year and is tied with St. Louis for the NHL's lowest total this season. The club last played Saturday evening in Washington and was handed a 4-1 loss as Alexander Ovechkin notched a goal and two assists for the Capitals.

Mike Knuble tallied the lone goal for the Flyers, while Netminder Antero Niittymaki made 27 saves in defeat.

Peter Forsberg, who returned to Philadelphia's lineup after missing five games with an injured right ankle, left the game in the second period with a concussion. He is not expected to play tonight, but the Flyers are expected to have center Jeff Carter back in the lineup after he missed the last 20 games with a fractured left tibia.
