Josh Gorges extension: 6 years X $3.9 million average salary
The contract contains a NTC in the first year of it and a limited NTC the seasons afterwards.

Personally, I think it's a very solid signing. When he's healthy, he brings it every night and has been the Canadiens' most important defenseman outside of Subban for the past two years since Markov's been a mess of injuries. Always like to see players that were undrafted cash in.

I personally don't think that any team should sign any play to long term contracts anymore. The players seem to sit back once the contract is signed, and really only "bring it" when it is contract time again.

Just my opinion.
