In The Spotlight

G Martin Brodeur

The all-time great is Canada's best bet in net. He's participated in past Olympics and seems to always bring his game to the next level when he's playing for Canada, as evidenced by him being Canada's best player in the 2006 Olympics. He's got a sparkling .920SV% and a 2.15GAA this NHL season.

D Scott Niedermayer

Niedermayer's struggling this season, but after being named Captain of Team Canada, he'll have to step it up. His play will be crucial to puck movement and on the powerplay, expect him to play as a rover, like he does in Anaheim.

C Sidney Crosby

The other generational talent in the Olympics have each other. Sidney Crosby has a backing group of some elite talent. He'll be expected to center the first line and get plenty of powerplay time. These will be his first Olympics and he might be looking to prove something.

A string group of elite players. I'm happy that Canada will be represented by it's best. So Roberto is a bck up for Martin?
I hope I'm wrong but I am preparing myself for a let down. I'm just not feeling it.
it's a strong team but looking at the other rosters,I agree it will be tough.
well there sure is some surprises Patrice Bergeron and Jonathan Toews just wasted picks in my opinion and also why Mike Green isn,t picked CRAZY!
I'm not surprised with Teows then I am with Bergeon but Steve knows more then us,otherwise he wouldn't be making the decisions.
They(Steve) has called Jeff Carter to attend the Olympics just in case Ryan Getzlaf cannot attend.

Do you agree that Carter should replace Getzlaf or someone else should? If he is out for the Olympics that is..
Looking back, getting beat by the USA last Sunday was the best thing that could have happened. They got the lines and roles straightened out in the Germany game. The rest is history.
I agree, indeed what you have said is true. Without that extra game,I don't think Canada could have taken extra risks to experiment a few combinations of possible lines.
Nash can be one of the top 5 dominant forwards in the league if he had the talent to surround him. He plays with Huselius and Vermette? he's 6'4 235 pounds and can skate faster then 90% of the league. be serious he's only 25 turning 26 he will be 29 next olympics..
Crosby doesn't exactly play with the leagues best players either, Guerin and Fedetanko. Yet he still plays impressively, scoring 40+ goals and being in the scoring race with Henrik Sedin and Ovechkin.
MILLER WAS THE THREAT TO ALL COUNTRY'S. He played great through out the tournament but let in a ****ty lucky goal by Crybaby. USA BETTER WIN GOLD NEXT OLYMPICS! I"M SICK OF CANADA SAYING THEIR SO GREAT SCREW 'EM! THIS IS USA TIMES NEXT OLYMPICS.
Oh my. We shall see.
