According to several reports, looks like the Sabres and the Amerks may reunite.
Rochester D&C story
This would be great news for both Sabres and Amerks fans. The previous union broke up as the Sabres(who didn't own the Amerks) wouldn't pay for the players in the minors. So the team was stocked with lesser players since that was all the Amerks could afford. But if the Sabres purchase the Amerks outright, they would take on the ownership and salary responsibilities for the Amerks. New owner Terry Pegula has already stated that although the NHL has a salary cap on player salaries, the scouting and minor league financials could be increased to stock the talent pool of the Sabres. This would mean a much better brand of hockey for the Amerks, a better talent pool for them in the AHL and also would once again put the Sabres farm club only 60 miles from the parent, boosting its regional fan base.
