Coyotes goalie Ilya Bryzgalov has the flu and will not dress for tonight's game at the New York Rangers. Jason LaBarbera will start in goal and the Coyotes will dress emergency amateur goaltender Tom Fenton as LaBarbera's backup.
Fenton is currently the Head of Game Operations and Community Relations at Manhattanville College in Purchase, N.Y.
Fenton played college hockey at AIC (American International College) in Springfield, Mass. In four seasons with the Yellow Jackets, he played in 81 career games and posted a 14-51 record with a 3.87 GAA. Fenton is also involved with multiple hockey schools throughout his native Ontario.
Prior to his collegiate career he played for the Milton Ice Hawks (OPJHL) in 2004-05. Before that he played for the WOJHL's Petrolia Jets from 2002-04, helping the Jets to the league title in 2002-03 and was named Playoff MVP; he was also named team MVP both years.
Fenton was a decent goaltender during his time in college considering the team he was on. If the Coyotes are going to lose this game, then I hope the Rangers shell LaBarbera and the coach puts Fenton in for ****s and giggles.
Wow, that guy's record and G.A.A look horrendous on paper.
