(Sports Network) - The Boston Bruins try to post another winning streak today when they welcome the Carolina Hurricanes to TD Banknorth Garden.
Boston won a season-high four consecutive games before losing, 3-2, to Florida on Monday, However, the B's bounced right back with Wednesday's 4-3 shootout decision in Pittsburgh.
Marco Sturm scored the game-winner in the shootout to lift the B's, who toppled the Pens for the eighth consecutive meeting.
Sturm also had a goal in regulation and Zdeno Chara and Stanislav Chistov chipped in power-play goals for the Bruins.
Sturm ended a five-game personal goal-scoring drought.
Boston, which is 6-4-1 on home ice, will play the first of two straight in Toronto on Saturday.
Carolina, meanwhile, has lost two consecutive matches. On Wednesday the Canes dropped a 4-2 tilt on Long Island, as Alexei Yashin tallied a goal and an assist to lift the Islanders.
