BOSTON, MA - The Bruins have recalled goaltender Hannu Toivonen to Boston and assigned goaltender Philippe Sauve to the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.
Toivonen, in his fourth year with the Bruins organization, has played seven games for Boston this season, posting a record of 2-3-0 and a goals-against average of 4.20.
After starting the season in Boston, Toivonen was assigned to Providence. In AHL action, Toivonen played in five games, with a record of 1-4-0 and a goals-against average of 3.33.
In 2005-06, the Hattula, Finland native posted a record of 9-5-4 and a goals-against average of 2.63 in 20 appearances with the Bruins. He missed the final 41 games of the season due to an ankle sprain.
