The Bruins begin the regular season with a five-game road trip, but local NHL fans won't have to wait until the home opener Oct. 18 against Tampa Bay to see the Black and Gold play in New England.
Three of the team's six exhibition games will take place in the area, beginning with a Sept. 20 meeting with New Jersey at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, N.H. The Bruins' new coach, Claude Julien, was fired by the Devils with three games left in the 2006-07 regular season and his team in first place in the Atlantic Division.
