(Sports Network) - The Boston Bruins will wrap up a lengthy homestand tonight as they welcome the Tampa Bay Lightning for a battle at TD Banknorth Garden.

The Bruins are 2-2-1 on the six-game stand and are coming off Thursday's 5-4 shootout loss to the mighty Buffalo Sabres. Boston held a 4-1 lead midway through the third period, but the Sabres would rally to avoid losing for the first time in regulation this season.

Ales Kotalik's goal with 1:35 left in the third period tied the game, and then his goal in the shootout proved to be the difference for Buffalo.

Marc Savard had a goal and two assists for the Bruins, who were looking to win consecutive games for the first time this season. P.J. Axelsson added a goal and an assist, while Tim Thomas stopped 29 shots for Boston.

The Bruins will be back on the road for Monday's contest in Atlanta.

Tampa Bay, meanwhile, is in the midst of a four-game road trip. The club kicked off the swing in fine fashion with Thursday's 5-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.
