(Sports Network) - A pair of Original Six franchises meet this evening in the Windy City, as the Chicago Blackhawks welcome the Boston Bruins to the United Center.

This is the 571st meeting between these old rivals and the first since February 14, 2004. Chicago has won three straight in the series and is 3-0-1 (one tie) in its last four home tilts against the Bruins.

The Blackhawks are coming off Tuesday's win over visiting Dallas. Denis Arkhipov had a goal and an assist and Nikolai Khabibulin made 20 saves, including 11 in the third period, to lead Chicago to the 2-1 triumph.

Martin Lapointe scored the game-winning goal in the second period for the Blackhawks, who won for the sixth time in their last nine games.

Tuesday's victory also bumped Chicago's home record to 10-7-1 this year.

Meanwhile, the Bruins are playing the second test of a four-game road trip this evening. Boston dropped an overtime decision in Columbus on Tuesday to fall to 7-6-2 as the visiting club this season.
