(Sports Network) - The Boston Bruins will take aim at their third consecutive win tonight, when they host the Carolina Hurricanes at TD Banknorth Garden.

Both of the Bruins' wins in this current mini-streak came on the road. They earned an overtime win in Carolina on Saturday and defeated the Washington Capitals in a shootout Tuesday evening in D.C. Those wins marked Boston's first back-to-back triumphs since taking three straight from December 19-23.

Phil Kessel scored the deciding goal in the shootout to help the Bruins defeat Washington, 3-2, at the Verizon Center.

Patrice Bergeron also scored in the shootout phase and added a goal in regulation for Boston. Brandon Bochenski tallied the other regulation score for the Bruins, while Tim Thomas made 32 saves.

Boston, which is 14-11-2 as the host club this year, will begin a three-game homestand tonight.

The Hurricanes picked up a win Tuesday night in Montreal to end a four-game losing streak. Frantisek Kaberle, who was playing in his first game of the season, scored the game-winning goal in the third period to help Carolina notch the 2-1 victory over the Canadiens.
