Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Dustin Brown scored the game-winning goal in the third period as the Los Angeles Kings knocked off the San Jose Sharks, 4-2, at the Staples Center.

Alexander Frolov had two goals and an assist and Lubomir Visnovsky added a goal and an assist for the Kings, who had lost four of five coming into the game.

Dan Cloutier stopped 16 shots in the win for Los Angeles, which had dropped six of its last seven games against San Jose.

Milan Michalek and Joe Thornton each had a goal and Vesa Toskala stopped 30 shots for the Sharks, who had won six of seven coming into the contest.

The Kings were trailing, 2-1, after a Sharks goal less than a minute into the third, but they tied the game a little over three minutes later when Visnovsky unleashed a slap shot from the high slot that hit off a Shark defender and into the net for a power-play tally at the 4:02 mark.

With under four minutes left in regulation, San Jose's Steve Bernier got called for holding the stick, and the LA power play took advantage. Michael Cammalleri slipped a pass to Anze Kopitar at the blueline and Kopitar rifled a pass from the right circle to the left circle where Brown one-timed it into the net to make it a 3-2 game with 3:10 to play.

Frolov's empty-net goal in the closing moments of the game sealed the game for Marc Crawford's club.
