SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Brett Engelhardt scored a pair of goals to lead the Toronto Marlies in a 2-1 win over the Syracuse Crunch Friday in American Hockey League action.

Geoff Platt's first period one-timer slap shot while Syracuse had the man advantage gave the Crunch an early lead.

Toronto (6-10-1-1) sent Syracuse goalie Ty Conklin 22 shots in the second period, but Conklin allowed only one goal to tie the game 1-1. Engelhardt scored on Staffan Kronwall's rebound, but only after Conklin had lost his stick.
