Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Brian Boucher made 28 saves and won his first game of the season, as the Chicago Blackhawks blanked the Columbus Blue Jackets, 1-0, at the United Center.

Boucher came into the contest with seven losses on the season and recorded his 13th career shutout and first since the 2003-04 campaign.

Lasse Kukkonen scored the lone goal for the Blackhawks, who have won two straight after losing eight in a row.

Fredrik Norrena made his fourth appearance of the season for the Blue Jackets and finished with 18 saves. Columbus, which failed to score in eight power- play chances, has now lost two in a row.

After a scoreless opening period, Chicago scored 7:04 into the second stanza to take a 1-0 lead. From the right circle, Bryan Smolinski dished the puck to Kukkonen at the point and his slap shot beat Norrena high on the glove side.

Five minutes into the final frame, Rick Nash had a great chance to even the score but was denied in close by Boucher.
