(CP) - Danick Bouchard cemented his spot atop the points leader board with a four-point performance Sunday.

The Shawinigan forward scored a hat trick and had one assist as the Cataractes squeaked by the Baie-Comeau Drakkar 4-3.

The win moved Shawinigan to first place in the western division of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

The Repentigny, Que., native pulled ahead of Gatineau Olympiques' forward Claude Giroux, who registered two points Sunday.

Bouchard upped his total to 37, including 20 goals, while Giroux trails with 35.

Elsewhere in QMJHL action Sunday, it was: Cape Breton 8, Acadie-Bathurst 2; Lewiston 6, Saint John 3; Halifax 5, Moncton 1; Val-d'Or 8, Gatineau 3; and Victoriaville 3, Chicoutimi 1.

At Baie-Comeau, Que., Francis Pare added a goal for Shawinigan (11-3-0-2).

The Cataractes led 4-2 until 16:05 in the third period, when Pierre-Cedrick Labrie scored for the Drakkar (9-5-0-1).

Charles-Antoine Messier and Francois Bouchard also scored for Baie-Comeau.

Screaming Eagles 8, Titan 2

At Bathurst, N.B., four players got three points as Cape Breton pulverized the Titan.

Paul Alexander McIlveen, Dean Ouellet and Chris Culligan each had two goals and one assist for the Screaming Eagles (9-7-0-1), while Oskars Bartulis registered one goal and three assists.

Cam Fergus also had a goal for Cape Breton.

Jordan Clendenning and Mathieu Perreault scored for Acadie-Bathurst (6-8-0-0).

Maineiacs 6, Sea Dogs 3

At Saint John, N.B., Marc-Andre Cliche scored twice to lead Lewiston over the Sea Dogs.

Chad Denny, Stefano Giliati, Stefan Chaput and David Perron added for the Maineiacs (8-3-0-1).

Bruce Crawford, David MacDonald and Alexandre Labonte put away goals for Saint John (5-7-1-1).

Mooseheads 5, Wildcats 1

At Moncton, N.B., Jakub Voracek grabbed four assists as Halifax defeated the Wildcats.

Andrew Bodnarchuk, Logan MacMillan, James Pouliot, Ryan Hillier and Garrett Peters each scored for the Mooseheads (8-5-1-1).

Matt Marquardt accounted for Moncton's (8-6-0-1) lone goal.

Foreurs 8, Olympiques 3

At Val'd-Or, Que., Mathieu Roy scored four times as the Foruers routed Gatineau.

Maxime Lincourt, Marc-Andre Cote, Bruno Desjardins and Sebastien Laferriere added for Val-d'Or (8-4-1-1).

Claude Giroux, Brett Morrison and Viatcheslav Trukhno all had a goal and an assist for the Olympiques, who slipped to second in the west (11-4-0-1).

Tigres 3, Sagueneens 1

At Victoriaville, Que., Adam Ross' goal at 18:28 in the second period stood as the winner in a Tigres victory over Chicoutimi.

Benoit Doucet and Vincent Zaore-Vanie also scored for Victoriaville (7-6-0-0).

Antoine Roussel put away the lone goal for the Sagueneens (4-9-3-1).
